How Does Plastic Affect Our Environment?
Plastic takes centuries to decompose and release toxins into the ground and water in the process. Plastic can also find its way into the ocean and endanger different marine life as they may mistake plastic for food and get entangled and drown or starve. One of the main causes of pollution on both land and water is plastic. 80% of marine pollution is caused by plastic and around 8 to 10 million metric tons of plastic finds its way into the ocean each year.
What is Acetate?
Acetate is a synthetic fabric derived from cellulose of wood pulp and cotton fibers.
The production of Acetate avoids burning fossil fuels which is responsible for increasing greenhouse gasses in the atmosphere. Greenhouse gasses are known for increasing global temperature around the world. The temperature in 2023 is 1.36 degrees Celsius warmer than the temperature in the late 19th century.
Why we use Acetate?
We want to contribute to spreading awareness through our products by combining a biodegradable acetate with our Eyelet Me frames which also provides a wide variety of color for you! By doing this, we look to reduce the amount of plastic which are not biodegradable such as Polyamide, Nylon and Polycarbonate. Join us hand in hand to contribute to sustainability!
